Cruising with the 14th Training Wing

I recently had the opportunity of flying with the 14th training Wing at Columbus AFB, Mississippi. The Wing is part of the USAF Air Education and Training Command. The Operations Group consists of the 37th, 41st, 43rd, 48th, 49th and 50th Flying Training Squadrons. The squadrons operate the T-6, the T-37 and the ultra-sleek T-38. In addition to training future USAF aviators with Primary Flight training and the specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Phase 2, the command also trains foreign military pilots. Along with the future fighter pilots the USAF needs, the Wing through the 48th FTS provides training for tanker and airlift pilots with the T-1A Jayhawk.
